So here we are, 16 days away from sudden impact. Things are coming together nicely here at Almanzo Central so I just wanted to check in and cover a few things that people have been asking about. Namely what to bring and what to pack. Here's a break down on how things will work.
As a rider you will need to select ONE of three options for support. They are as follows:
Option #1 - Meet your support crew in Preston near the 40 mile mark
Option #2 - Bring a well marked drop bag (these work perfectly) to the start line and have it shuttled to the 62 mile checkpoint
Option #3 - Bring everything you need with you and experience the truly self-supported version of the Almanzo 100
The option you pick will determine the amount of supply you'll need to carry with you. I realize that everyone is different in their needs, but eating and staying hydrated are the two most important things to keep in mind. Everything thing else (spare tubes, pump, patch kit, etc...) is second to keeping from getting dehydrated and/or bonking.
I've said it before, but I am a huge fan of salty foods like bacon and peanuts. I enjoy a Clif bar from time to time and have been known to attempt to eat my weight in Margarita Shot Bloks. A shorty Coke fits nicely in a jersey pocket and comes in handy near the half-way point. Beyond that you're on your own. Eat and drink what works for you, but please don't forget to do either.

Chris,
Awesome can't wait. A few questions. Is there a limit to the drop bag size?
Will the drop bags make it back to the start/finish?
Will there be a re-route for those who wish to stay dry (Water crossing)?
Will you have some notes for specators to see the middle part of the race?
Thanks
