IMPORTANT NOTE

TODAY"S RIDE HAS BEEN POSTPONED. I apologize for the short notice, but the weather and everything inside me have spoken. NO CENTURY RIDE TODAY. THIS RIDE HAS BEEN CANCELED.

That said, if you want to go out in this and ride the ride, I do have cue sheets ready to go. They are the same as they were from last year (like I'd really give you this years?). I'll be up at 8:00am if you want to stop by and pick up a set.

I rode the first 30 miles of the course today (Saturday April 11). For the most part the course was very fast and a full on road bike with 23 mm tires would have had no problems. However, at 180th by county road 30 there is a long patch of fresh laid gravel. I was running 40 mm tires and the bike was very, very squirrely on the descents and I had a hard time hooking up on the climbs. Had I been on a full on road bike I would have had to walk this part.

I have heard reports of the gravel roads around Rochester being grated recently. Should these reports be true, that means that the conditions are ripe for rock road renewal and I would expect more sections of freshly crumbled limestone to appear in the next five weeks.
